Information for Parents

In creating curriculum resources, MICAF aims to educate young people of the dangers surrounding mobile phone theft and therefore make them more aware of potential situations before they happen.

Dealing with issues such as bullying or theft can be very difficult for any parent. Often children will keep such information hidden if they can - but eventually it may become more apparent that there are issues which need to have further steps taken to resolve the situation.

If you feel that your child may not be able to open up to you regarding their issue, is there someone that you both trust who may be able to act as a mediator? Teachers and Youth Workers are trained to deal directly with these types of situations. If your child doesn’t feel that they can talk to these people, a family friend who your child is familiar with may be able to offer help just by listening and then taking agreed appropriate action.

Here are also organisations which are able to help young people - and their parents - address issues surrounding mobile phone thefts and bullying without being judgmental.

  • Childline
  • Nspcc
  • Crime Stopper
  • Bullying Uk
