We hope you and your pupils have enjoyed using our Staying Safe Online resources for Key Stage 2. Now is your chance for pupils to win up to £175 First Prize for your school and £175 First Prize for themselves. There are Second and Third Prizes of £100 and £75 up for grabs too.

We are asking pupils get their creativity flowing and design a fantastic poster to raise awareness of online safety.

Your pupils can choose from three themes/messages:

1. Dealing with cyberbullying:

  • Don’t respond, don’t reply
  • Save or screenshot nasty messages
  • Tell a trusted adult

2. Staying safe online/digital footprint:

  • Keep profiles and details private

3. Taking care of your mobile phone:

  • Look after it
  • PIN/password protect it
  • Be aware of your surroundings at all times

Pupils can be as creative with their posters as they like – drawing, painting, creating a collage using any medium, including digital (PowerPoint, Word, Photoshop). Feel free to use the images and characters in our resource PowerPoints. We’ll be looking for winning posters that are bright and eye-catching with a strong message about online safety.

Make sure there are no mentions of brands, or any real product or service by its brand name (e.g. Samsung, iPhone, iTunes, etc) on the posters.

      1. Entries must be from Key Stage 2 UK pupils aged 8-11 years at the time when the entry is submitted to us.
      2. Entries must be sent via the schools but can be created by individual students (out of classroom time).
      3. Pupils can enter as individuals, as partners or groups or as a class entry.
      4. Pupils must choose one of the chosen themes for their poster.
      5. All posters should be given a title.
      6. All entries must be submitted with pupils’ names and school name shown.
      7. Entries must be accompanied by a completed Entry Form.
      8. No brand names should be seen or mentioned in the poster entry.
      9. On entering the competition, each individual is giving their permission for their poster to be used by Out of Your Hands. It will be used on and may be used by Out of Your Hands for their own promotion i.e. national press / website / TV / social media. Out of Your Hands is free to users and purely for educational purposes.
      10. Closing date for entries is midnight on the 28th April 2017.
      11. Prizes for pupils and schools are to be vouchers with a monetary value.
      12. Judges will choose winners based on the best overall combination of creativity, relevance and quality of end product, along with the portrayal of core messaging around mobile phone and internet safety. All terms and conditions must be met to qualify for entry.
      13. The Out Of Your Hands? team will be monitoring content submitted but are not responsible for any explicit or inappropriate content. Any will be removed immediately.
